At Mirowitz, our connection to Israel is an integral part of who we are. We purposefully integrate lessons about Israel regularly. Several significant events happened in November that define Israel, and we are joining a global movement to celebrate Israel education this month.
We got a jump start during this week by learning about the upcoming Israeli elections. In Hebrew and social studies classes, 5-8th graders reviewed the basics of Israeli democracy, and its complicated electoral and governmental structures. Next week, we will follow the election results closely, along with the intricate negotiations by the leading parties to form a governing coalition.

Alma, our awesome
ShinShinit, worked with Hebrew teachers to develop lessons for our students. Grades K-3 will explore the meaning of בית (
bayit - home), קהילה (
kehillah - community) and the unique Israeli community of קיבוץ (
kibbutz). |
Fourth and fifth graders will learn about important figures who contributed to Israeli society,
With Middle Schoolers, Alma will examine historical November events such as the UN Partition Plan (1947) and the the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin (1995), and their impact on Israeli society.

When we study about Israel, we do so on the basis of what Professor Gil Troy terms Identity Zionism. In addition to the relationship of עם (people), ארץ (land) and מדינה (people),
we reflect on how Israel inspires our Jewish identities, and how we can contribute to the maintenance, protection, and striving for perfection of our Jewish homeland.
It is our hope that their Mirowitz childhood prepares your children to be leaders who can confidently stand up for Israel, and add their knowledge and voices to the greater conversation about Israel.

Not only has our son received a top-notch education, but he is incredibly kind and compassionate. I believe Mirowitz is a big reason why.
We are so grateful to this amazing school.

The middle school years at Mirowitz have been monumental in our boys education and development. At that age, kids need guidance and the Middle School team rocks it. And those who know me know I'm a hard sell!

I originally only planned for my kid to attend Mirowitz from K-5, but ended up staying through 8th grade and I’ve never once regretted that decision. Plus, through high school and now as a current college freshman, all of my kid’s closest friends are from Mirowitz. The small size allowed for amazing, long lasting bonds.

Why do you invest in Mirowitz?
I believe in the importance of Jewish education and the values that Mirowitz teaches about Tikkun O’lam. I believe having these values ingrained in young minds can be carried over throughout their entire educational career and into their working careers.

Our Parent In Heaven, Rock and Redeemer of Israel, bless the State of Israel, the start of the flowering of our redemption. Shield it with Your love. Spread over it the shelter of Your peace, Guide its leaders and advisors with Your light and Your truth. Establish for them Your good counsel. Strengthen the hands of the defenders of our Holy Land. Cause them to inherit, our God, deliverance. Place the crown of victory upon them. Give the land peace and everlasting joy to its inhabitants. |
