What makes you want to say #thankyoumirowitz? The meaningful moments your children spend learning every day? The phenomenal, loving teachers who are working harder than they ever imagined possible? The Judaic and Hebrew education that is connecting your children to their heritage?
We are a community of diverse perspectives, but here’s something we all agree upon: Mirowitz students deserve the very best! Providing the best, it turns out, is an expensive endeavor that is not covered by tuition alone...and we count on your generosity every year to make that possible.

#GivingTuesday is Nov 30. On that day, we invite you to Love Mirowitz Out Loud, and be part of our viral social media campaign.

Post a photo on social media that makes you say: #thankyoumirowitz.

Add a caption that tells your friends you are supporting Mirowitz this year.

Something like this: "I’ll be supporting @Saul Mirowitz Jewish Community School on Giving Tuesday!" Don't forget to explain why!

Tag a friend (or two...or three...or more) and invite them to do the same.

Make a gift! Please consider Mirowitz an investment in both the intellectual growth and the social-emotional well-being of future Jewish leaders. If you already make a gift to Mirowitz each year, thank you! Please consider renewing your commitment to the school on Giving Tuesday.

As Thanksgiving approaches, Jon and I are so grateful to Mirowitz for helping us raise our own boys to be the kind, ethical, intelligent adults they have become. Whatever you feel grateful for, please join Jon and me in sharing your love out loud and making an annual gift with joy and gratitude.

Thank you for prioritizing Mirowitz in your philanthropy!

Shabbat Shalom,

Cheryl

Do you have a child in 4th or 5th grade, or a friend who is curious about Mirowitz for their child? We've planned a moment of exploration for parents and children on December 7 @ 7 p.m.

The search committee continues its work and after several interviews, has identified two candidates who will be coming to visit Mirowitz in early December.  As promised, we will provide opportunities for them to meet with many constituent groups so we can solicit feedback from anyone who would like to be involved.  We are working on travel plans and an agenda for each candidate, and will keep you informed on how you can participate.

What is clear from the quality of the applications is that Mirowitz has an outstanding reputation, and that the position is attracting experienced and capable professionals whose values match ours. We are feeling optimistic and hope you are too!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Paul and Diane

Living up to our Mirowitz mission, vision, and core values requires constant attention. We must be in a continuous habit of adjusting and enhancing our policies, practices, and academic program to reflect our mission and to honor the diversity of our community.

Here’s how we’ve been doing that lately:

  1. We’re collaborating with the PTO to update resources at every grade level with material from EyeSeeMe, a locally and Black-owned book store specializing in children’s books that feature characters of color.
  2. We’re curating and developing age-appropriate Thanksgiving resources and lesson plans focused on racial justice.
  3. Our faculty has researched and adopted a framework to guide our DEI policy, pace and programmatic goals using resources from various organizations including the Learning for Justice Standards
  4. The middle school is developing culture-based on Restorative Justice practices to foster students’ empathy and responsibility.
  5. Our va’ad chesed (student council) has added a position dedicated to ensuring that student council activities are reviewed through a DEI lens.
  6. Four members of our faculty and one board member have joined Keshet’s Leadership Project and are receiving coaching pertaining to this work.

We are proud of our progress and the learning taking place throughout the whole building. Please reach out to Shannon or Reb Scott if you have questions or are interested in partnering with us.
We're joining forces with our neighbors at B'nai Amoona (and Mirowitz dad Rabbi Jeffrey Abraham) to have a safe and FUN Hanukkah celebration:

Tuesday, November 30
4:45 p.m.
In the Mirowitz South Parking Lot

A 10 foot menorah awaits and a treat from PTO!

We'll enjoy live music by Mirowitz students, and by Mirowitz parents Chen Rothchild and Shimon Ohana!

We can't wait to celebrate with you!
Picture retake day is November 23 for students who were absent on picture day and who need their photo retaken.

If you would like your child's photo retaken, please email Alex and ask her to add you to schedule. You must return your original packet on retake day.

5th grade was great. But then you get to middle school, you go "Woah! This is SUPER cool!" You get to learn lots of different things with awesome teachers. I really love it!
