If I could have a do-over, I would want the childhood I gave my kids here at Mirowitz. They got the best education, came to see the world through Jewish eyes, and learned what it means to be responsible members of a community. For that, #thankyoumirowitz.
This week, you received an envelope in your mailbox with Insta Posts...all from thankful members of our community. We hope you enjoyed them and felt proud of the ways Mirowitz impacts individuals, families and the entire community.
The mailing came with an invitation to: |
• Post your own #thankyoumirowitz on Instagram or FaceBook.
• Give generously to our annual appeal, knowing that your dollars are changing the world for the better and raising a generation of leaders.
As you may know, tuition covers only a fraction of the amount it costs to educate your children.
Our annual campaign makes up for that difference and directly enables us to give students the tools for success: academic rigor, Jewish learning, fine arts, Israel connections, technology, adventure experiences... everything! |
Every gift of any size makes an impact. We hope yours will be among your most significant philanthropic priorities. If possible, become a member of Elijah’s Circle, our major gift society for donors who contribute $1,800 or more annually.
Donate now by:
• texting "Mirowitz" to 243725.
• returning the form you received in the mail. |

The parent teacher conferences we will hold today and tomorrow are an opportunity to connect as your child's team of adults. We will share information about academic progress and discuss both strengths and challenges.
The best way to help move every child to her or his potential is together, as a team of loving adults who want the very best for each child. Thanks in advance for taking the time to partner with us! It is a privilege to be invited into the sacred task of helping you raise your children.

Just as Jews celebrate Jewish holidays in diverse ways (or not at all), Jews also acknowledge Halloween, Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day and other non-Jewish holidays in diverse ways (or not at all).
It is fairly common that more traditionally-oriented families do not celebrate Halloween—neither giving out candy nor trick-or-treating. Sometimes during Halloween season, traditionally-oriented students and families acutely feel their differences from their peers and experience some sense of marginalization of their Jewish identities, even within our Jewish school.
By the same token, we recognize that our community holds families who look forward to and celebrate Halloween. Some Jewish leaders have even gone so far as to advocate for a Jewish reinterpretation of Halloween to support meaningful Jewish celebration of Halloween.
Within our school, we expect and do not redirect Halloween-thematic conversations amongst students about holiday plans and costumes. Even so, institutionally, Mirowitz has made a values-based choice that we do not celebrate Halloween at school or plan school-sponsored Halloween celebrations outside of school.
Happy to connect directly if you have further thoughts or questions!
Thanks so much,
Scott ={)}

Your lovingkindness, envelop it in Your peace, and bestow Your light and truth upon its leaders, ministers, and advisors, and grace them with Your good counsel. Strengthen the hands of those who defend our holy land, grant them deliverance, and adorn them in a mantle of victory. Ordain peace in the land and grant its inhabitants eternal happiness.
