Wonder what qualities are shared by Mirowitz teachers? For one thing, they are all curious, life-long learners who are always chasing knowledge and striving for excellence. Mirowitz teachers are committed to constructivist teaching theory — hands-on learning that leads to new perspectives and profound paradigm shifts. They nurture curiosity, creativity and collaboration, and coach students on their path to leadership.
Our teachers want for your children what you want for them, and see in them all the greatness that you see in them. |
Mirowitz teachers are the guardians of your child’s days and will help your children become their best selves.
And on top of all of that...Mirowitz teachers are committed to nurturing a sacred parent-teacher partnership.
It is this very partnership that is key to every child’s success, and your children deserve no less! That partnership begins with shared goals, respectful communication and mutual pride in your child’s successes. |
Our teachers can't wait to spend time with you (via Zoom) on Curriculum Night next week. They will give you a glimpse into the daily life of your child, and share with you information that will shape your child's learning this year.
Please plan to join us for the all-school curriculum night Zoom Monday from 8-9 p.m., and again for your children’s grade level Zooms.
Thank you for being our partners! As a team, we will shape your child into a leader who feels confident and successful, stimulated and encouraged, safe and valued. A year of meaning, growth, Jewish connections and joy awaits! |

Shabbat Shalom!

I wish I had grown up at Mirowitz! It’s true! And I’ve only been here a few days!
The colors are bright and happy. But there’s just something in the air. The students know that what they are learning is important and that their teachers care about them. Their lessons all have a purpose.
I can tell that this school wants its students to be smart, but also to be self confident. My role is to help those kids love Israel even more than they already do. It’s such an honor to have the opportunity to do that!
In Israel, you are Jewish because you are Israeli. You don’t need to DO anything to be Jewish. But here, it’s different. You need to feel a connection and to be part of a community.
I hope that for Mirowitz students, I can help them understand that Judaism also means connecting to Israel, each person in their own way. I’m excited to share my favorite songs and games, to talk about cities and kibbutzim, to connect them to special places like the Kinneret and the Kotel. I’m excited to share my own family’s story of leaving Russia as refuseniks, and to explain the diversity of the Israeli people.
Mostly, I want the kids to be proud to be Jewish and to understand that Israel belongs to them. I’ve already started to get to know your kids who have welcomed me enthusiastically. I hope I will get to meet you soon, too.
Shabbat Shalom,
Shelly Udovik

Parents…join me for a monthly discussion about "No Drama Discipline," a book that explores the link between a child’s neurological development and the way a parent reacts to misbehavior.
We’ll get together 9/20, 9/27, and 10/4 at 8:30 a.m. in the lobby. If you cannot attend in person, we will set up a computer so you can join via Zoom. (If you plan to be in person, please wear a mask and bring proof of vaccination.)
We'll start with the first 2 chapters on September 20.
Together, we'll will discuss:
- strategies that help identify a discipline philosophy.
- facts on child brain development.
- the way to calmly and lovingly connect with a child while still setting clear and consistent limits.
- tips for helping your child achieve insight and empathy.

This is our third year
at this wonderful school! My family grew up on a Kibbutz and everyone knew all of the children. That same feeling is at Mirowitz, and we just love it!

Your lovingkindness, envelop it in Your peace, and bestow Your light and truth upon its leaders, ministers, and advisors, and grace them with Your good counsel. Strengthen the hands of those who defend our holy land, grant them deliverance, and adorn them in a mantle of victory. Ordain peace in the land and grant its inhabitants eternal happiness.
